Peter Pollock

Colonel (retired) USAF
Retired Colonel Peter M. Pollock is a leadership development facilitator and moderator and an adjunct faculty member supporting SBCC’s education programs and Air University’s Intermediate Developmental Education (IDE) curriculum in the areas of leadership and command. He most recently served as Deputy Division Chief in the A1, Directorate for Integrated Resilience (A1Z) at Air Education and Training Command (AETC), where he oversaw and contributed to initiatives focused on force readiness, organizational effectiveness, and personal resilience.
Prior to returning to government service, Peter spent six years in the corporate arena at USAA as a Business Strategy and Planning Manager, supporting enterprise-level strategy, execution, and organizational alignment. He retired from the United States Air Force in 2017 after 24 years of distinguished service. His final military assignment was as Commander, 18th Force Support Squadron, 18th Mission Support Group, Kadena Air Base, Japan, where he led large, diverse teams delivering mission-critical support to one of the Air Force’s most strategically important installations. He previously served as Director of Manpower, Personnel, and Services (A1) for United States Air Forces Central Command (USAFCENT), providing strategic-level oversight across the CENTCOM area of responsibility.
Throughout his career, Colonel Pollock served in key leadership and staff positions at the squadron, MAJCOM, and Joint levels. His experience includes serving as an AFROTC instructor, squadron commander in both garrison and deployed environments, and Deputy Commander of a Mission Support Group in both operational contexts. His work has consistently focused on developing leaders, strengthening teams, and helping organizations perform effectively under complex and high-pressure conditions.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Hawaiʻi (1993), a Master of Arts in Pedagogy from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (1995), and a Master of Science from the Air Force Institute of Technology (2007). He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through PMI and holds a Change Management certification from Prosci.
Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, Peter spent much of his childhood in Australia before graduating from Maryknoll High School in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. He lives in Texas with his wife, Akiko, and they have two daughters, Reina and Emily. Outside of work, Peter is a lifelong swimmer and endurance athlete who regularly competes in Ironman 70.3 team relay events.
