Robert “Bobby” Ford

Robert “Bobby” Ford is a leadership development facilitator and moderator supporting SBCC’s education programs. He retired as a Colonel after more than 30 years in the United States Air Force, serving in both enlisted and officer roles across security forces operations, contingency response, and organizational leadership. He concluded his career as the Director of Operations and Training at the Air Force Security Forces Center, where he oversaw training and readiness for 38,000 Air Force Defenders worldwide. 

Bobby has extensive experience in ICBM security operations, serving as a flight commander, convoy commander, and operations officer at F.E. Warren AFB. He commanded three squadrons during his career, including the 802d Security Forces Squadron at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland—home of Basic Military Training and the Air Force’s largest non-nuclear security forces unit. He later commanded the 90th Security Forces Group at F.E. Warren, marking a career highlight, leading over 1,300 personnel responsible for securing the nation’s nuclear deterrent. His strategic assignments include time at U.S. Forces Japan and twice serving at the Pentagon on the Joint Staff and Headquarters Air Force, where he supported global crisis planning and policy development. 

Bobby holds a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies from Air War College (2018), a Master of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland (2005), and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Maryland (1998). He is a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) through DRI International and is pursuing Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. He lives in San Antonio, Texas, with his wife Stacy. They have three children and enjoy traveling, listening to live music, and playing disc golf with friends.
